Since 2005 ShareTheRoad Productions has been sharing and selling our work using
several different models. We have always believed in sharing via the web. We retain
copyright but encourage the public to view and use our photos for their personal and
non-profit use. And many of you have taken us up on our offer. This is a good thing
and our work has spread across the web and helped many people to communicate
about the natural world and many organizations to fulfill their missions.
An image from the web displayed on a computer screen or downloaded and printed on
the office printer has its place. Many of our images have been used by students to buff
up their reports and essays. Many have been used by naturalists and docents to convey a
unique idea to visitors in the field and we enjoy hearing about that. Our images have
been used to create interpretive panels, videos and publications for the US Fish and
Wildlife Service and the California Department of Fish and Game. Pamphlets and
publications are made richer by our images from the natural world. Our CDs and DVDs
raise funds for non-profit organizations while conveying their message of conservation.
We hope to be able to continue to contribute. It gives us joy to serve the greater good
in this way.
We are not entirely altruistic. We are a small and growing business and have found a
way to dovetail our love of documenting the natural world with the production of fine
art for sale. Not everyone needs a 24x36" framed custom printed archival photographic
enlargement. But there are those who do. Not everyone has an empty wall calling out
for a 4' x 2' metal print display. But there are those who do. And we're thankful for
that. It may be that an 8x10 "or 8x12" print is all that is required. We're happy to fill
those needs as well.
We have used third party vendors to fulfill our sales orders and have had a good bit of
success with that model. But without direct contact with our customers we are unable
to generate the communication and friendship that is so much a part of who we are. So
we have abandoned the ease of "rapid fulfillment". Yes, it is slightly more cumbersome
to communicate with every customer prior to the sale of an image. But we are selling
more than a product. We are offering a service that values the needs of our "customers"
above simple fulfillment of an order.
Perhaps you'd like to have one of our custom prints in a unique size to fit that special
place. Maybe you'd like to create a "wall o' nature" with a display of several prints of
unique sizes. Or maybe you're drawn to a particular image but would like to see it
cropped differently for your space. These things are important and we enjoy the
challenge. Our goal is to help you to create a unique space that speaks your story.

* Beautiful Prints on Aluminum, the Metal Print
High resolution printing on aluminum represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes
directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it,
images take on an almost magical luminescence. Colors are vibrant and the depth is breathtaking. Detail
and resolution are unsurpassed. We have chosen to offer our images in this unique medium as the perfect
solution for displaying fine photographic art without glass. The image is ultra glossy and with an
amazingly mirror-like surface. The print is waterproof and can be cleaned with standard glass cleaner.
It is as durable as it is beautiful.
** Evolution Floating Frames
Mounted in our custom made (by hand in our studio) wood floating frame the image is suspended from
behind and does not touch the sides of the frame, thus it appears to float. We build our floating frames
with a 1/2" float (space around the image) for maximum multi-dimensional effect. Our frames are finely
sanded and painted black. Other colors are available per request. The overall effect of the piece is jaw
dropping. The Evolution Floating Frame allows rapid removal and replacement of the image since the
mounted photograph is secured to the frame with velcro. Dusting is a breeze and the image can easily be
changed with the season. If a frame is part of your design consider the Evolution.
A more economical way to display your print in our Evolution Floating Frame is to order a paper or
canvas print mounted on gatorboard. Small (8x10" - 8x12") mounted images (metal or gatorboard) can
also be displayed on a shelf or table using a small easel. We have found a very nice one and will include it
for $10.
Of course you can display your metal image in your favorite frame (with or without a mat), just remove
the glass for maximum effect.
