Cut To The Chase -- One fan's Point of View of the Amgen Tour of
California '07, Stage 2 (without the CHP parade)
The Breakaway was eventually caught. But Danny Pate (Slipstream-Chipotle),
Christophe Laurent (Credit Agricole) and David McCann (Colavita) put on
quite a show. Christophe took the overall King of the Mountain Jersey.
Danny was voted Most Aggressive Rider by journalists.
First Place and to Discovery's Levi Leipheimer for taking the race overall
Third Place finish.

Alan Davis wore the Sprinter's Green Jersey. Ivan Basso joined Discovery
and went right to the front. George Hincapi, well what can you say about a
guy who falls, breaks his wrist (distal radius), fights his way back to the front
and then pulls the breath out of all the competition? Except, "Nice work,
George".
Tony Cruz went down with George, got up and finished strong. Brian
Vandborg and Tom Danielson completed the team and all of the squad can
be seen leading the pack out on River Road racing toward Sacramento.
In case you're wondering. Yes! It is definitely worth it to sit for a couple of
hours to see these pro riders flash by. Just hit rewind.
